“We returned to 4 Seasons Resort on July 3 for their annual fireworks display. Towards dusk the grounds and Nelson Lake get crowded so all can watch the best fireworks show ever! There are many fireworks in the area on the 4th but 4 Seasons sets them off yearly on the 3rd. In total there was a little over a half hour of continuous fireworks.
During the summer they serve prime rib every other Saturday evening. Delicious! Several orders of smothered chicken were served at the table next to us – it made me drool and it made me think twice about getting my favorite prime rib. We’d make the trip just for the food.
They also make the best frozen cocktails – mud slides looked great, but my favorite drink is the Bloody Mary – each one is made to order (but very quickly).
They have great bar staff, great wait staff and great food and drink. The lodge as well as the bar and restaurant are very clean.
The rooms have a full kitchen – you just need to bring the food; but why bother when you can get the best meals served in the 4 Seasons restaurant next door! They are not open for breakfast, so bring some bread, butter and jelly for breakfast! The toaster, coffee and coffee pot are already in the room as well as all the dishware you’ll need. I do bring my own bath sheets, since I prefer them to the smaller bath towels provided.
Each room has its own patio/deck with a table and chairs, and there is a communal BBQ and lounge chairs. We bring our own comfy folding lawn chairs as well as beach towels.
It’s not even a 10 minute drive to downtown Hayward and a 15 minute drive to a small casino. There’s a lot to do in close proximity, from shopping to mini golf and lumberjack shows to gambling. Hayward is a small friendly town to visit.
